Mathews Funeral Home - Obituaries

July 2, 2007

The funeral service of Thaniel “Panny” West, 75, of 449 Poinciana Ave., who 
died July 2, 2007,  will be conducted Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Libery Baptist 
Church. Rev. Charlie Rouse and Rev. John West will officiate. Interment will 
follow at 3:00 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery, Vada, GA.
 
A native of Mitchell Co., GA., Mr. West had resided in Albany for the past 
twenty five years moving from Cairo, GA.. He was a retired truck driver 
employed with South Georgia Egg Company and of the Baptist faith.
 
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Lois Powell West, Albany, GA., five sons, 
Marvin West, Cairo, GA., Ronald West, Six Mile, SC., Danny West, Albany, GA., 
Larry West, Port St. Lucie, FL., Rev. John West, Pickens, SC., three daughters, 
Margaret Dowdney, Knoxville, TN., Ann Crowley, Chantilly, VA., Michelle Jones, 
Sylvester, GA., twenty one grandchildren, twenty nine great-grandchildren, 
three nephews, Therman Whigham, Melvin Whigham and Douglas Whigham all of 
Cairo, GA.
 
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Mathews Funeral 
Home.
