Mathews Funeral Home - Obituaries

June 14, 2007

The funeral service of Margie R. Whitaker, 83, of Albany, who died Thursday 
June 14, 2007 at her residence will be conducted Monday at 10:00 a.m. at 
Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Mike McAfee will officiate. Interment will follow at 
Anderssonville Nat’l. Cemetery.

A native of Baldwin Co., GA., Mrs. Whitaker had resided in Albany since 1968 
moving from Warner Robins, GA. She was involved with the family business, 
Krispy Krème Doughnut Co. and a member of First United Methodist Church. She 
was preceded in death by her husband Col. Lucian George Whitaker, US Air Force, 
Ret.

Survivors include two daughters, Lucia Ramsey and her husband Gaylon of Albany, 
GA. and Deb Whitaker of Lexington, SC., two grandchildren, Lisa Seymour and her 
husband Mike of Leesburg, GA., Jeff Ramsey and his wife Kathy of Atlanta, GA., 
and three great-grandchildren, Emily Seymour, Jacob Seymour and Whit Ramsey.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Mathews Funeral 
Home.
