The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Sheffield Funeral Chapel with interment in Primitive Union Cemetery with Military Honors. The Rev. Robert Johns will officiate with Billy Wayne Cross giving a eulogy. Active pallbearers will be Ray Henley, Glynn Henley, Wayne Cannon, Brandon Cook, Gene Cowart and Billy Wayne Cross. A native of Miller County, Mr. Williams was born February 14, 1927. He was a retired plant manager at McLendon Meat Co. He was a veteran of WW II and the Korean War. He was a Front Line Combat Medic and was awarded the United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Combat Medical Badge, W-1 Bronze Service Star, Occupational Medal (Germany), Korean Service Medal W-1, and the WW II Victory medal. He was a member of Flat Creek Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Nellie Williams of Colquitt; two daughters, Brenda Sue Cowart of Colquitt and Debra Kay Williams of Colquitt; one son-in-law, Gene Cowart of Colquitt; one son, Neil D.
