H. Pope Williams

CORDELE — H. Pope Williams, 82, of Cordele, died Sunday, January 26, 2003, at 
Crisp Regional Hospital.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at Cordele First Baptist Church with 
interment in Sunnyside Cemetery in Cordele.

Mr. Williams was the son of the late Columbus Lee Williams and the late Mae 
Pope Williams. He was a retired farmer and pecan processor. A member of Cordele 
First Baptist Church, Mr. Williams was the fifth generation of his family to 
reside in Crisp County, GA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Nell 
Clements Williams.

Survivors include his daughter, Thelma Nell Saunders of St. Simons Island; son, 
Hiram Williams of New York; sister, Zuma Harris of Atlanta; three grandchildren 
and three great-grandchildren.
