F. Willis, Jr. The graveside funeral service of Durward F. Willis Jr., 65, of 1200 Tenth Ave., who died Friday, will be conducted Saturday at Floral Memory Gardens at a time to be announced. A native of Petersburg, Va., Mr. Willis had resided in Albany since 1938. He was a retired master electrician and a member of Byne Memorial Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Durward F. Willis III; a sister, Mrs. Grady (Hazel) Higgs, and three grandchildren all of Albany. Oaklawn Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. ___________________________________________________________ Albany Herald July 19, 1979 (death date: 7/18/79) Mrs. Willis The graveside funeral service of Mrs. Paula Thurman Willis, 55 of 1200 Tenth Ave. who died Wednesday will be conducted Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery. A native of Fitzgerald, Mrs. Willis resided in Albany 40 years. She was a retired stewardess formerly employed by Pan American Airlines and had also taught school for a number of years at Mamie Brosnan Elementary School and attended the First Presbyterian Church. Survivors include her husband, Durward F. Willis Jr. Albany; a stepson, Durward F. Willis III Albany; and a brother Kurte Thurman Jr. of Phoenix, Ariz. The family is at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Grady W. Higgs, 1705 12th Ave. Oaklawn Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
