Her funeral will be held Friday at 11:00 A.M. at Raleigh White Baptist Church. Rev. Billy Butler and Brother Clifton Elmore will officiate. Interment will follow in Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Quinton Mock, Billy Etheredge, Buddy York, Joe Cannon, Brent Cannon, Ashley Montgomery, Michael Pittman and Jeffery Spillers. Ladies of her Sunday School Class at Raleigh White Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers. Mrs. York volunteered at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital for eighteen years and received special recognition for her services. She loved helping patients, physicians and the staff until she was medically unable to do so. She was a member of Raleigh White Baptist Church where she served in many capacities, sang in the choir and served in leadership position of WMU. Mrs. York enjoyed Gospel music, especially, The Dixie Echoes and she, her husband and friends spent many years traveling to gospel music performances. Mrs. York was a lovely lady who received much joy and happiness from helping others. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, who enjoyed life and lived her life to serve Jesus and to help others in need. Mrs. York was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Que Parrish of Dothan, AL and her son-in-law, Norman Slater of Albany. Survived by her husband of fifty-nine years, Kara York of Albany, three daughters, Bettie Etheredge and her husband, Bill, of Leesburg, GA, Eddie Slater of Albany, GA and Patricia Cannon and her husband, Rev. Joey Cannon, of Richland, GA, a son, David York and his wife, Margie, of Grand Ridge, FL, ten grandchildren, Quinton Mock and his wife, Jessica, of Newnan, GA, Billy Etheredge and his wife, Kristin, of Temple, GA, Buddy York and his wife, Robbie, of Leesburg, GA, Jennifer Montgomery and her husband, Ashley, of Albany, GA, Erica Gass and her husband, Randy, of San Antonio, TX, Shannon Mock of Albany, GA, April Pittman and her husband, Michael, of Leesburg, GA, Joseph “Joe” A.
