To do this deed, Mr. Joyner pulled off his right shoe and sox -- and it is supposed he used his toe to pull the trigger of the gun. No cause is known except that he was mentally unbalanced. His actions was different on this visit than previous, still his family was shocked at him killing himself. An inquest was held by the coroner and the verdict of the jury that he met his death by his own hands with the suicidal intent. Additional Comments: Joe was the son of William H. Joyner and Lucinda Catherine Cates. He was born in the Fairplay area of Douglas Co., Georgia.
