The sermon was delivered by the Rev. Z. T. Weaver at 11 A.M., after which a Presbytery was assembled consisting of Rev. E. Shershire, New Hope Church; Bro. L. M. Free, Mt. Hebron, Miller County; Brethren J. G. Collier and Z. T. Weaver, Chairman. The following names were enlisted as male members: Rev. R. C. Pool, Mt. Hebron, Miller County; J. D. George, New Hope, Early County and S. N. Cashwell, New Hope, Early County. The female members are as follows: Armanda Sikes, Benevolence, Early County; E. T. Mims, Benevolence; S. C. Mims, Benevolence; S. C. Billings, Benevolence; Sarah Morrell, Spears, N. C., I. E. Pool, Benevolence; Susie Sikes Benevolence, Early County Emma George, New Hope, Early County. After the constitution the church called Rev. Z.T. Weaver, Pastor, S. N. Cashville, Clerk. October 1897 the first church letter was presented to the Bethel Association 1898 Rev. R. E. Pool was appointed and paid by the Home Mission Board to serve as pastor and it was through his untiring efforts and perseverance in the faith that a House of Worship was built with the assistance of the building committee, J. D. George and J. N. Evans. This same year, 1898 B. M. George and wife united with the church and at present are now living members. January 1st, 1899 Mrs. E. T. Mims, Epsy Ivey an Mrs. B. M. George appointed a committee to secure communion outfit. March 4, 1899 Bro. Mike Ivey was elected First Deacon and B. M. George ordained first deacon. March 5, 1899 B. M. George was elected first Sunday School Superintendent. The present Superintendent is B. P. Keaton. On March 5, 1899 the first communion service was observed. In 1901 the Church house being completed Rev. R. C. Pool resigned as pastor. As the church records are now complete some of the following pastors names are given from memory: 1902 Rev. J. I. D. Ott present pastor The Woman's Missionary Society was organized in 1906 consisting of seven members, Mrs. McParr, Mrs. C. L. Webb, Mrs. A. A. Hasty, Mrs. Idus Coleman, Miss Emma Engram, Mrs. P. N. J. Dozier, President, Mrs. B. M. George, Sect. and Treas. The present officers in 1932 are Mrs. Vardelle Keaton, President and Mrs. P. N. J. Dozier, Sect. and Treas. There is no record of when B.Y.P.U. was organized. Mrs. Vardelle Keaton is the president and Mrs. A. G. Ott, the vice-president at present.
