21 May 1845
     At a meeting of a portion of the Democracy, of Early county, in Blakely, 
on the first Monday in May, inst., for the purpose of appointing delegates to 
represent said county, in the June Convention, to be held for the purpose of 
nominating a candidate for Governor.  The following gentlemen were appointed.
    G. B. Wardlow, Esq., Col. Joseph P. Hardee, and Col. Wm. K. DeGraffenried.
     The meeting then proceeded to appoint six delegates to meet a declaration 
from Baker county, to meet at Concord, in Baker county, on Thursday, 12th day 
of June next, to nominate a Senator, to represent the said Counties in the 
ensuing Legislature of the State of Georgia; when the following gentlemen were 
nominated, John McCorquedale, James B Brown, Etheldred Hays, Seaborn Hays, 
Burrell Roberts, and Wm. Sutton, Esqrs.
    The above named gentlemen, are appointed, with the right to fill vacancies 
if any should accrue by sickness or otherwise.
