Born in Miller County on November 11, 1891, she was the daughter of Robert Oliver McNair and Alice Fudge McNair. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Blakely, where the funeral was held Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock, with the pastor, the Rev. John McGowan officiating. Interment was in the Oak Grove cemetery in Arlington. Survivors are a son, Oliver McNair Bell, of Bellview, Washington; two daughters, Mrs. Leonard Houston, San Marino, CA., Mrs. Louis Joiner, of Santa Rosa, CA., 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Submitted by: Brenda King McNair Memorial Service To Honor Mrs. Louise McNair Bell A memorial service to honor the memory and life of Mrs. Lou McNair Bell, who was a member of the Peter Early Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, was given by Miss Winifred Brooks, Acting Chaplain, in the absence of Mrs. Oscar Whitchard, Chaplain, at the regular meeting of the chapter held at the home of Mrs. Jim Holman. The service began with a prayer, by Miss Brooks, "We thank you for the ritual of this organization which is based on Christian principles, which permit us to honor deceased members in a Christian way. Please guide and direct us to live according to Thy Holy Will, everyday. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen." "Mrs. Bell became a member of this organization in 1951. She was loyal and helpful. When her health began to fail she went to California to be with her children: Sylvia Bell Houston of San Marino and Louise Bell Joiner of Santa Rosa and a son Oliver M. Bell of Bellview, Washington, the speaker said. She died April 26, 1981 in San Marino. The funeral was held April 29 at the First United Methodist Church, Blakely with the Reverend John L. McGowan officiating. Interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery, Arlington. Members of the Peter Early Chapter, DAR, unveiled an official DAR marker at the grave side with Mrs. Rachel Farr, as acting Regent, in the absence of Mrs. Louise Jones and Mrs. Evelyn Whitchard, chaplain. The Reverend McGowan concluded the service with prayer. A Bross and a lighted candle were used at the Memorial Service Thursday, at the May meeting of the local chapter, Mrs. Jim Holman lighted the candle.
