Carter and was located just behind the present site of the Charles Davis store (1977). Mr. Carter's ginner was Jim Andrews. The store Charles Davis now operates was built for a seed house by Mr. Carter. It was originally a two-story structure. William A. Carter, the grandfather of our newly elected president, Jimmy Carter, was killed in 1903 following and argument.* The Carters lived in a seven room home, situated on the east side of the highway behind two mammoth oaks. One oak is still standing, shading the Rowena Community Center, Courthouse and picnic area.
