D. Cleveland City Police Officer, Dies Arthur D. Cleveland, well-known and highly-esteemed citizen of Blakely and member of the city police force, died in a local hospital Saturday afternoon. Mr. Cleveland although a native of Miller County, had resided in Early County nearly all his life. He was born October 9, 1908, hence was 47 years of age. He engaged in farming for many years, but for the past year and a half has been a member of the city police force. He was a member of the White Pond Free Will Baptist Church. Funeral services for Mr. Cleveland were held in the Blakely Free Will Baptist Church Monday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock, with the Reverend W. F. McDuffie and the Reverend LeRoy Curtis officiating. Interment was in the Blakely cemetery, with nephews of the deceased serving as active pall-bearers and the following comprising an honorary escort: G. H. Owen, Joseph Jones, Marcine Ezell, Dallas Lisenby, Joe N. Livingston, Carl Gilbert, Emory McDuffie, L. B. Jones, C. C. Swann and M. L. Simmons. Manry-Minter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Surviving Mr. Cleveland are his wife, Mrs. Minnie E. Cleveland; four children, Hansford, Jinks, and Warren Cleveland, all of Blakely, and Ralph Cleveland of Albany; three sisters, Mrs. Fred Middleton of Blakely, Mrs. Grover Bryan of Morgan, Ga., and Mrs. Elton Tabb of Colquitt, Ga. Submitted by: Brenda King McNair < Bmcnair614@aol.com > ================= Minnie Lee Enfinger Cleveland Minnie Lee Enfinger Cleveland, 88, of Blakely, died Thursday, January 3, 1994, at Early Memorial Nursing Home in Blakely. A resident of Early County most of her life, Mrs. Cleveland was born September 9, 1905 in Graceville, Florida, to the late Nealy Enfinger. She was a homemaker and a member of First Freewill Baptist Church. She was married to the late Arthur D. Cleveland. Funeral services were held Saturday, February 5, 1994, 11:00 a. m., at the Chapel of Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home with Reverend W. F. McDuffie, Reverend Joe Buttgen, and Reverend Roger Russell officiating. Interment followed at the Blakely Cemetery with Craig Cleveland, Eric Cleveland, Jay Cleveland, Ricky Cleveland, Art Cleveland, Brett Cleveland, William Cleveland, and Robert Cleveland serving as pallbearers. Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Cleveland is survived by three sons, Hansford Cleveland and Warren Cleveland, both of Blakely, and Jinks Cleveland of Tallahassee, Fl; fourteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren, and one great- great-grandchild.
