C., died October 16, 1998, at Lexington Extended Care after a lengthy illness. A retired telephone operator for Blakely Telephone Company, Mrs. Loyless was born June 18, 1906, in Early County. The daughter of the late Henry D. Clarke and Carra Bruner Clarke, she was preceded in death by her husband Curtis H. Loyless. She was a member of Dutch Fork Baptist Church and a member and past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a member of the Blakely Pilot Club, serving as as president. Survivors are one son, Norman and Barbara Thomas of Irmo, S. C.; one brother, A. H. Clarke, Sr. of Warner Robins, four sisters, Mae Coppinger and Mattie Vandiver of Bainbridge, Sue Cleveland of Plantation, Fla., and Mildred Monroe of Blakely; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Services were October 21, 1998 at 3 p. m. at the chapel of Manry-Hodges-Jordan Funeral home with Dr. Ron Hinson officiating. Interment followed at Blakely Cemetery. Pallbearers were Charles DeLoach, Walter Clarke, Clarke Thomas, Harold Coppinger, Mac Ritchie and Glynn Enfinger. Source: Early County News, October 22, 1998 Page 3 B.
