J. W. Loyless A well known and beloved Early County Preacher, the Rev. J. W. Loyless died at his place of residence here early Saturday morning following a brief illness. His unexpected death was attributed to a heart attack. A native of Decatur County, he had lived in Early County for the last eight years and was pastor of the New Enterprise Free Will Baptist Church at Iron City. The Rev. Mr. Loyless was born January 6, 1907. He had also served as pastor in Arlington, White Plains and MT. Zion Churches in Early County, and also served churches in Donalsonville and Bainbridge. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon in the Chapel of Manry-Jordan Funeral Home, the Rev. W. F. McDuffie officiating. Interment took place in the Oak City Cemetery in Bainbridge. Serving as pall bearers were Joe Loyless, Nathan Cumbie, David Wilson, Floyd Evans, and Carol McLendon and David McLendon. Survivors are the widow, Mrs. Lucile Evans Loyless, Blakely; one son, Jimmy Ray Loyless, a student at Auburn University; brother, George Loyless, Bainbridge; three sisters, Mrs. Ruby L. Evans, Mrs. Emma L. Cumbie, West Bainbridge, Mrs. Ruby L. McLendon, of Leesburg. (This is a mistake the names should be Mrs. Teenie McLendon).
