O. McNair Passed On To Her Reward Last Friday Night. Blakely friends will learn with keen regret of the death of Mrs. W. I. (O.) McNair, of Damascus, which occurred last Friday night. Mrs. McNair was formerly Mrs. T. J. Lanier, and for many years made her home in this city, where she greatly endeared herself with those who made her acquaintance, being an active worker in church and civic circles. Mrs. Lula Lanier McNair was born near Damascus March 26, 1871. She was twice married, first to the late T. J. Lanier, on October 15, 1880. By this marriage she became the mother of one son, Mr. Carl Lanier, who survives her, living at Damascus. Her second marriage was to Mr. W. O. McNair, of DeSoto, Ga., on September 17, 1923. He lived only eight months. After his death she returned to her former home at Damascus and made her home with her son. Mrs. McNair united with the Methodist church at 11 years of age. She was a pious and devout Christian woman, commanding the respect and love of all who knew her. She was an invalid for several months prior to her death, and bore her sickness with Christian resignation and fortitude. She leaves an aged mother, Mrs. T. B. Coleman, and an only son Mr. Carl Lanier, both of Damascus, and five sisters, three brothers and a host of friends to mourn her death. Her funeral was held at Damascus Methodist church Saturday morning; following which her body was carried to Arlington cemetery and laid by the side of her former husband, the late T. J. Lanier.
