Houston Teacher Louise Bledsoe Houston, 82, of Blakely died Tuesday,Feb. 22, 2000, at Early Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Houston was born Nov. 7, 1917, to the late William Walton and Gussie Crumbley Bledsoe in Georgetown, Ga. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Blakely and a retired school teacher. She had lived in Blakely since 1940. She was preceded in death byher husband, Dr. Rafe Ashley Houston. Survivors include one daughter, Vaughan Richardson of Highpoint, N.C.; two sons, Ben Houston and Woody Houston, both of Blakely; three brothers, Dr. W.W. Bledsoe of Eufaula, Ala., Woodrow W. Bledsoe of Stone Mountain, Ga., and Frank Bledsoe of Georgetown, Ga.; one sister, Mary Savelle of Aikin, S.C.; and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000, at 2 p.m.at Blakely First Baptist Church with Dr. Ron Hinson officiating. Interment will follow at Blakely Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church in Blakely. Pallbearers will be Billy Joe Chapman, Spencer Mueller, John Puckett, JohnnyDixon, Steve Jones and Tom Baxley.
