Dennis Hayes found dead



Dennis Wade Hayes, 67, who lived alone on Route 3, south Blakely on Hwy. 27, 

was found dead at his residence Sunday evening about 7:30 o'clock.  Neighbors 

who became alarmed because Mr. Hayes had not been seen all day, entered the 

home and discovered the body.  Investigating officers said a medical examiner 

determined that he had been dead about 24 hours and died of natural causes.



A native of Early County, Mr. Hayes was the son of William J. Hayes and Clara 

Bynum Hayes, and was born October 9, 1904.  His wife was the late Sadie Loyless 

Hayes.  He had spent all of his life in Early County and prior to retirement 

was employed by the Farmers Gin and Warehouse Company.



Graveside funeral services were held in the Blakely cemetery Monday afternoon, 

the Rev. A. H. Lanier officiating.  Pallbearers were S. G. Maddox, Jr., Shelly 

Simmons, Hoyt Kenney, Murrell Kenney, Byron Hayes and Jack White.  Manry-Jordon 

Funeral Home was in charge.



Survivors include a son Billy Hayes, Valdosta; brother, Dred Hayes, Fort 

Gaines, a sister, Mrs. Marcine White, Arlington, and 3 grandchildren.

Dennis Wade Hayes was a son of William J. Hayes and Clara Bynum.  He was 

married to Sadie Loyless 27 September 1926, Early Co., GA Book K, Page 396, 

daughter of Grover Cleveland Loyless and Irene Rena Herrington.  She was born 

in 1910 and died 09 Janaury 1951 in Seminole Co., GA.  They are both buried at 

Blakely City Cemetery in Blakely, Early Co., GA.
