Funeral Services Held Friday For Charlie Lee Loyless



Funeral services for Charlie Lee Loyless, 30, Blakely plumber-electrician and a 

veteran of World War II, who died Tuesday night of last week in a local 

hospital, were held Friday morning  at the Sowhatchee church, with the Rev. 

Willie Wiley officiating and the Minter Funeral Home in charge.  Serving as 

pallbearers were John Thompson, Chesley Wood, Odell Monroe, Odell Monroe, John 

Granger, Virgil Batchelor.  Interment was in Sowhatchee cemetery.



Mr. Loyless had an excellent war record and was a German prisoner of war for 

six months.  After discharge from the armed forces, he returned to Blakely, 

where he resided at the time of his death.  He is survived by his parents, Mr. 

and Mrs. Charlie Loyless, of Jacksonville; his wife, Mrs. Nera Wilkerson 

Loyless; a son, Calvin Loyless; and two daughters, Lisms and Beverly Loyless.  

One sister, Mrs. Larry Carver of Jacksonville, and two brothers, Newton Loyless 

of Jacksonville, and Louis Loyless, of the U. S. Army, Panama Canal Zone, also 

survive.

Charlie Chesterfield Loyless and Jennie Lee Beaty.  He married 06 March 1937 

Early Co., GA Book M. Page 116, Henrietta Nera Wilkerson, born 05 November 

1919, daughter of John Edgar Wilkerson and Lena Dennie Moore.
