Sheffield of Centerville John I. Sheffield, 70, of the Centerville community, this county, died at a Donalsonville hospital the past Wednesday morning at 5:15 o'clock. He had been ill for three weeks. Born in Miller County on July 6, 1882, Mr. Sheffield had resided in Early County for the past 48 years and engaged in farming. He was a member of the Centerville Methodist church, where his funeral was held Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock, with the Revs. --.--. Meyer and C. R. McKibben officiating. Interment was in the Centerville cemetery, with Minter Funeral Home in charge and G. W. Davis, Jr., L. O. Tiner, Cliff Taylor, Stephen Cannon, James Tedder and J. H. Swann serving as pall-bearers. Surviving Mr. Sheffield are his wife, Mrs. Lou Ella Sheffield; a daughter, Mrs. Idus Waller, and a son, Vernon Sheffield, both of Blakely; two sisters, Mrs. Chloe Bush and Mrs. Nan Williams, both of Colquitt; and the following half- brothers and half-sisters: Mrs. Wyatt Lindsey of Blakely, Mrs. Audley Mock, Mrs. Clarence Davis, Mrs. Marcine Cooper, Mrs. Jim Tom Worsley, and Crawford Sheffield, all of Colquitt, Mrs. Leon Wiley of Donalsonville, and Lester Sheffield of Auburndale, Fla.
