Mr. White was born March 6, 1922, in Early County, to the late Fred White and Cleo Loyless White. A lifelong resident of Early County, he was a farmer. He was a member of the Blakely First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Mr. White was a veteran of the U. S. Navy in World War II. Funeral services were held Friday, August 9, 1991, 3:00 p. m., at the Blakely First Baptist Church with Dr. Gary Furr officiating. Interment followed at the Blakely Cemetery with deacons of the First Baptist Church, Jack Tedder, Johnny Dixon, Phillip Moore, John Prichett, Clink Alexander, and Ric Hall serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Bill Houston, Owen Fussell, Bobby McLendon, Norman Alexander, Stanley Houston, Thomas Harvey, Alan Braswell, John Bowen, Woodrow Houston, Harvey Brown, Bradley Bridges, Art Redding, Bam Bridges, Mickey Fourakers, Howard Davenport, Ed Balkcom, and Sevola Jones. Manry-Jordan-Hoges Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of arrangements. Mr. White is survived by his wife Bobbie Sirmons White of Blakely, GA; one daughter, Lynn Drew of Blakely, GA; one son, Joseph Benjamin White of Blakely, GA; three sisters, Kathleen White and Rena Belle English, both of Blakely, GA, and Iva Willis of Tallahassee, FL; and four grandchildren.
