Shepard and mother of Mrs. John Hudspeth of Blakely, died at her home in Leary on last Wednesday afternoon at 4 o'clock. Mrs. Shepard's death was attributed to a heart condition and followed a three-day illness. A native of Miller County, Mrs. Shepard was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. W. B. McNair and was born 27 July 1866. She had resided in Leary the past 13 years and was a member of the Leary Baptist Church. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 4 o'clock at the Baptist church in Leary, with the Reverend Charles Allen officiating. Interment was in Colquitt cemetery, with Minter Funeral Home in charge and Eddie Hudspeth, J. O. Shepard, Jr., John F. McNair, Bill Pullen, Fred Martin, and Leroy Shepard, all grandsons of the deceased, serving as pallbearers. Surviving Mrs. Shepard are two brothers, Bob McNair, of Blakely, and "Bud" McNair, of Damascus, and the following children: Dr. James Leroy Shepard, of Damascus; Dr. W. O. Shepard, of Bluffont; J. O. Shepard, of Colquitt; Mrs. W. R. Pullen, of Damascus; Mrs. Fred martin, of Hilton; B. B. Shepard, of Leary, and Mrs. John Hudspeth, of Blakely. Thirty-seven grandchildren and twenty-six great- grandchildren also survive.
