James Alfred Brownlee was in the 13th Regiment, Company E. He was shot in the arm while fighting one of the battles in Winchester, Virginia. It had to be amputated above the elbow. No one knows where James Alfred Brownlee was buried or when. He has an " In Memory of" headstone at Enterprise Freewill Baptist Church on Hwy 39. This headstone is near one of his son's James F. Brownlee. Additional Comments: James Alfred Brownlee was married to Georgia Ann Knight. They were my great great grandparents.
