H. Sapp and Miss Lucy Hilton, both of Blakely, were married here at 5 o'clock this morning at the home of the groom's brother, Mr. J. E. Sapp, on Broad street. The young couple left Blakely in the groom's auto yesterday afternoon, expecting to reach here in time to be married on Christmas Eve, but the storm delayed them to such an extent that they were all night getting here and the wedding occurred at early Christmas dawn instead of dusk of Christmas Eve, as they had planned. Upon their arrival the groom's brother called up Rev. Lamar Sims, pastor of the First Baptist church, who immediately arose, went to the Sapp home and performed the ceremony. After breakfast the happy couple left for a honeymoon automobile tour through Florida. Mr. Sapp, the groom, has been in business at Blakely, but after his honeymoon will go to Douglas, where he will enter business with another brother. He has two brothers here, Messrs. J. E. Sapp and C. C. Sapp, of the Watt-Sapp Hardware Co. The bride is a popular and beautiful young woman of Blakely -- Albany Herald The groom is a former citizen of Cairo and where he spent his boyhood days. His friends are everyone and they all extend congratulations, wishing for him and his life companion, every blessing. In this the Messenger joins them.
