Lewis Written: January 10, 1844 Recorded: January 12, 1844 William Lewis Born about 1755 died in 1843 Georgia In the name of God Amen Early County William Lewis, Senior of the county and State aforesaid, being of sound mind and memory, do make and constitute this my last Will and Testament(vz). Item 1. First, I give and comment my Soul to the Lord of Heaven who gave it. 2. I wish all my just debts to be paid. 3. I will and bequest to my Dear Wife, Lucy Lewis, during her life time and widowhood the following property (vz). Four Negroes, namely: Smart, Anna, Jack and Sarah. Also my riding mare Jenny, also my saddle and bridle, my household and kitchen furniture, plantation tools, also one lot of land containing Two Hundred and Fifty Acres, more or less, Known and distinguished by number 121 (One Hundred and Twenty One) in the Fourth District Early County. Also all the stock of cattle and Hogs. 4. And at my wife's (????), I wish the above properties to be sold as my excecutors shall deem or think most properly, then to be equally divided among my children; Sarah Hoddler (or Hudles), William Lewis Jr., Lucy Harrell, Elizabeth Anderson, John W. Lewis, David E. Lewis and the heirs of James Lewis and Eda Lewis. 5. I do constitute and appoint my son, David E. Lewis and William B. Daniel, both of the county and State aforesaid, the Executors of this my last Will and Testament. 6. And lastly, I do hereby revoke all former wills. ??
