[MISSING TITLE] RELIEF 1834 Vol. 1-- Page:181 Sequential Number: 138 Full Title: AN ACT to change the names of James Thompson Felts and Granville Felts of Scriven county to James Thompson Bevill and Granville Bevill, Jr., and to legitimatize the same. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the State of Georgia in General Assembly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That from and after the passage of this act the names of James Thompson Felts and Graville Felts of Scriven county be, and they are hereby changed to James Thompson Bevill and Granville Bevill, Jr. SEC.2. And be it further enacted by the authority aforesaid, That the said James Thompson Bevilland Granvile Bevill, Jr., be, and they are hereby made lawful heirs of Granville Beville, Sen. of said county, and are hereby declared to be joint and equal heirs with the other legal heirs of the said Granville Bevill, Sen., and entitled to all the rights and privileges to which they would have been entitled had they been born in lawful wedlock,--any law to the contrary notwithstanding. JACOB WOOD, President of the Senate WILSON LUMPKIN, Governor Approval Date: Assented to, 18th December, 1834 Additional Comments: Granville Bevill, Sr. is my ggggg grandfather, born 29 Oct 1785 in Effingham County (now Screven) and died 10 Jun 1851. Granville Bevill moved iwth his family to LowndesCo., Ga bout 1840 nd lived in the 16th land district near the Florida state line. He is buried at the Old Belleville Baptist church cemetary in Hamilton Florida. It is said, but not proven, that he was married twice. First to a cousin, Sarah Scruggs, one daughter Rebecca is said to have been born by that marriage and second to Sarah Ann Bonnell, daughter of William Bonnell and at least 5 children born by that union.
