Kight SPRINGFIELD---Amos Gordon Kight, 86, died Tuesday at Candler General Hospital in Savannah after a short illness. The Johnson County native lived in Springfield 40 years. He was a member and deacon of Springfield Baptist Church and a member of Springfield Masonic Lodge 440, from which he received a 50 year membership award. He was a retired farmer and retired employeee of the Georgia Department of Transportation. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Ruby DeLoach of Rincon and Mrs. Iris Sikes of Springfield; three sons, J. Hilton, C. Murray, and J. Oliff Kight, all of Springfield; a brother, Otis L. Kight of Kite; 11 grandchildren; 12 great- grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral: 4:30pm Thursday at Springfield Baptist Church, burial in Springfield Cemetery. Thomas C. Strickland Funeral Home of Springfield. Remembrances: Springfield Baptist Church building fund. Additional Comments: Amos was born 19 Mar 1898 to G. L. Kight and Harta Unknown Kight. Georgia death certificate #013603.
