NOTES: Minute books record various subjects,
including "Marriage license granted to"  couples
wishing to marry. They will be scattered in with
other legalities such as court notes, executors of
wills to name a few.  It is not the actual marriage
license, but it will have the date it was granted
and to whom it was granted to. That is a close as
you are going to get for a marriage record. The same
goes for marriage licenses granted in books (1) and
(2). They are the Effingham County Misc. Records –
Ordinary's Office books (one & two). XNOTE:
sometimes the same people are in the books twice,
sometimes with the same date, sometimes with
different dates.
