James Chambers Hall (CSA) and wife Mary Adaline Loftis. The Bible title page reflects a publication date of 1859. Although James C. and Mary A. Hall were married on 27 June 1850 in Elbert Co., the record pages show births back to 1797. This might be explained by the fact that James' mother, Mariah L. Turman, widow of John Pryor Hall (1797-1838), lived in the same home with James and Mary until Mariah's death in 1881. The Bible was handed down to James and Mary's son George J. Hall and thence to his son Reverend George Milton Hall of Athens, GA who has current possession of it. John P. Hall 1797 was born May the 23 Maria L.
