His daughter Victoria Mattox of Oglethorpe and Elbert Cos., Ga. is my 3-Great-Grandmother. I am also of Fortson descent through an interracial couple William E. Fortson (1833-1919), who was the son of Richard F. Fortson and Nancy Ham Fortson and an African-American woman named Mirtis Fortson (1840-1899) BIBLE RECORDS OF Henry P. Mattox (1811-1893) of Elbert Co. Georgia Originally copied by Mrs. J.F. Harman. Bible was printed in 1835. Henry was the son of David and Sarah Mattox. FAMILY MARRIAGES Henry P. Mattox was married to Sophia Nunnelee in the Year of Our Lord 1833 the 1st of October. FAMILY RECORD Henry P. Mattox was born in the Year of Our Lord 1811 on the 22 day of October. Sophia Mattox was born in the Year of Our Lord 1817 on the 3rd day of January. James D. Mattox was born in the Year of Our Lord 1834 on the 30th day of August. William H. Mattox was born in the Year of Our Lord 1836 the 5th day of January. Zechariah H. Mattox was born the 22nd of August 1838. DEATHS James D. Mattox departed this life the 19th day of July 1839 aged 4 years 11 months and 19 days. Sophia N. Mattox departed this life on the 19th of March 1858 aged 41 years, 2 months and 16 days. Henry P. Mattox departed this life on the 23rd February 4 o'clock P.M. 1893 aged 81 years 4 months and 1 day. David Mattox died October 26th 1855 aged 70 years 6 months and 17 days. Sarah Mattox, his wife, departed this life March 6th, 1856 at the age of 67 years, 7 months and 22 days. James F. Nunnelee died February 28th 1838. BIRTHS David Mattox was born April 9, 1785 Sarah Mattox his wife was born July 14, 1788 Mrs. Jincy Nunnelee, the wife of James F. Nunnelee was born in the year of Our Lord 1788 on November 5th. Eliza Frances Nunnelee, oldest sister of Sophiah Nunnelee afterwards Mrs. Nicholas Burton was born 8th of Augt.1811.
