I appoint A. W. Vaughan, son, C. C. Haynes, son-in-law, and G. M. Campbell, executors." Signed: Isaac D. Vaughan (his x mark) From Dewy Rose, Georgia, travel West on Deep Creek Road four miles, turn right. Follow this road approximately 4/10 of a mile. Bear right on an unpaved dirt road and follow this pulpwood trail for 3/10 of a mile. (The road was barely passable twenty years ago.) Stop at Alexander Wilkes Vaughan's old homeplace and ask permission of present owners to visit Vaughan Cemetery. The cemetery is on a hill under eleven large oak trees and overgrown bushes. On west of the cemetery there is a pipe fence around at least eight graves. On the south side of the cemetery, two graves are enclosed on granite coping. The following graves are unknown: Lots: 1, 4, 11-17, 25, 26-32, 37-39, 42-52, 55-56, 61-67, 69-70 Lots 63-70 are enclosed in a pipe fence, but are unmarked. It is possible they are graves of Confederate soldiers.
