(Note-- This is the land John Dunn bought from Joseph & Nancy Patterson, deed recorded in deed book “W” page 158, on the eight day of December, 1819. This deed was recorded, 23rd day of January, 1835, Elbert County, Ga. before his move to Tallapoosa County, Alabama. Joseph and Nancy Patterson gave certificates of ownership to John Dunn in Tuscaloosa, Alabama on the 8th day of December, 1819. The Franklin Road ran from Elbert County, Ga. into Franklin County, Ga., towards present day Hartwell Dam. This ferry would be in Hart County, Ga. when it became a county).
