Harper Georgia; Elbert County: This Indenture made this sixth day of November in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and fifty four between Robert Booth Senr of the one part and L. R. A. Harper of the other part both of the county and State aforesaid Witnesseth that the said Robert Boothe Senior for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars to him in hand paid at and before the sealing of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained sold and conveyed unto the said L. R. A. Harper his heirs and assigns, all that tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the county of Elbert on the water of Broad River containing 11 3/4 acres adjoining lands of Joseph Roberts, L. R. A. Harper & Robert Booth Beginning at a Dogwood x thence S 59 W 18 chs to a Black gum x thence N 20 W 4 chs 80 L to a Hickory x thence N 42 E 8 C 60 Links to a Pine x thence N 33 W 50 C 77 L to a stake x thence S 55 1/2 E 10 C 60 (?) links to Dogwood Beginning. To have and to hold said tract or parcel of land with full privilege of all the land on a certain bank belonging to the said Robert Booth Senr which may be covered by water by the said L R A Harper raising a dam across said branch unto him the said L. R. A. Harper his heirs together with all and singular the rights members and appurtenances thereof to the same in any manner belonging to his and their own proper use benefit and behoof. forever in fee simple. And the said Robert Booth Senr his heirs Executors and Administrators the said bargained premises unto the said L. R. A. Harper his heirs and assigns will warrant and forever defend the right and title thereof against themselves and against the claims of all other persons whatsoever.
