Mary Bell et al & William Bell 23 Dec 1847 Elbert Co, GA Elbert Co Deeds Book AA Page 241 Bell to Bell Deed Georgia, Elbert County: This Indenture made this the twenty third day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight Hundred and forty seven Between Mary Bell, James Bell, Green Bell, Wm Grimes Husband of Olive Grimes Formerly Olive Bell , Thomas Bell, Elizabeth E. Bell & Joseph Bell heirs of Joseph Bell deceased of the one part & William Bell of the other part all of the State & county aforesaid. Witnesseth that the aforesaid heirs for & in consideration of the sum of Five hundred & Eight dollars allowed by distribution in the Division of said deceased Estate by the said William the Said heirs aforesaid hath this day Bargained unto the said William all that certain tract or parcel of land situate lying & being in the county aforesaid on the waters of Falling Creek Beginning at a post oak corner on Mary Bell & Joseph Ruckers corner. Thence South crossing said creek to said Ruckers & Allens land to a black haw corner Thence East with Said Wm G. Allen to a post oak corner (a Stump) near the fish dam Road & James Nashes line Thence a Northward course to a Mulberry corner Thence a N. W. course with said Road to a Post Oak corner on John Downers line and near said Downers shop door. Thence a "W" course with said Downers line to a post oak bush corner. Thence making the fence the line Thence south to the Beginning Post oak corner containing one hundred & Forty acres more or less. Which land & premises with all things thereunto Belonging. We the said heirs do warrant and forever defend unto him the said William against the claims of ourselves our heirs & assigns and all persons else to him the said William to have and to hold to his and their own proper use benefit & Behoof Forever in Fee Simple. Bell and Joseph Bell for James Bell sign the Forgoing deed for the purposes therein contained and that he signed the same as a witness And saw James Bell Snr do so likewise.
