Deed Book OO, pages 572-3: "State of Georgia, Elbert County) Know all men by these presents that I Lemuel Crocker of the above State and County for and in consideration of the great interest I take in the promotion of education and especially in the erecting of a male academy to be called The Farmers Academy, I give grant and convey unto Benjamin Thornton, Joel Hutcherson, Elijah B. Norman, Nathaniel Banks, John A. Teasley, Reuben Thornton, Thomas J. Teasley, Edward Cason and William H. Adams, Trustees of the said Academy and their successors in office for the use of said Academy a certain parcel of the tract of land on which I now live known as the Christler tract commencing forty-one yards from the Academy next to Reuben Thorntons land running thence west on the line run between myself and Mrs. Lucy Teasly, until it intersects John A. Teasly's land on the west thence south on said Teasly's line forty six yards thence east running Sq and forty six yards until it arrives forty yards beyond the said Academy thence forty six yards to the beginning place Together with all and singular the rights and appurtenances thereunto belonging in Fee Simple reserving the entire right at alll times to use water from the Spring which said boundary now comprehends and which is the Spring now used by the School taught at this place and my own family.
