Downer to Booth

Georgia, Elbert County: This indenture made this the 26th day of March 
in the year of our Lord on thousand Eight hundred and forty between 
Joseph Downer on the one part and Robert N. Booth of the other part 
both of the State and county aforesaid Witneseth that the said Joseph 
Downer for and in consideration of the sum of six dollars and fifty 
cents to me in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged 
have granted bargained and sold and conveyed and by these presents to 
grant bargain sell and convey to the said Robert N. Booth his heirs and 
assigns a certain tract or parcel of land containing two acres more or 
less situated in the county aforesaid on the waters of Falling Creek 
beginning at a black gum corner East one and a half rods to a post oak 
corner north to a chestnut stake on the meeting house road and a half 
rod to said Booth's line thence along said line to the beginning corner.
Bound N East by land of Joseph Downer on the West by Robert N Booth's 
being a parcel of land which I do convey to said Booth two acres more or 
less together with all the appurtenances pertaining thereto I now bargain
& sell and convey to the said Booth his heirs and assigns forever in fee 
simple and I said Joseph Downer do forever warrant and defend the said 
land from me my heirs or any other persons making claim to the same in 
witness whereof I hereby set my hand and Seal this March the twenty 
fourth in the year of our Lord one Thousand eight hundred and forty.
