Showeth that for and in consideration of the sum of fifty dollars by said Oglesby to said Depriest to him in hand paid, the receipt whereof being fully acknowledged, by the said Thomas Oglesby, hath given, granted, bargained, and sold and, by these presents, doth give, grant, bargain, and sell unto the said Thomas Oglesby a parcel or tract of land containing thirteen and a half acres lying and being in the County of Elbert and State of Georgia on Penenton’s (Pennington’s ?) fork of Dove’s Creek beginning at a beech gum on Perkins line S3OE to a post oak; thence, N35E to hickory stump; thence, to the beech gum, the place of beginning, containing thirteen and a half acres together with all and singular the rights, privileges, and appurtenances therein contained. To have and to hold the aforesaid granted land without encumbrance whatsoever and free and clear from molestation of any person whatsoever and I, the said John Depriest, doth covenant and agree to and with the said Thomas Oglesby that he the said Oglesby, his heirs and assigns, etc., shall and may forever hereafter have, hold, occupy, possess, and enjoy the aforesaid land and premises without the molestation of him the said Depriest, his heirs, etc., and I, the said John Depriest, doth obligate myself, my heirs, etc., to warrant and defend the aforesaid land and premises free and clear from the claim of any person whatsoever. In witness whereof, I have set my hand and seal the year and date above written.
