Robert Ebberhart & Antioch Church 31 Jan 1852 Elbert Co, GA Elbert Co Deeds Book AA Page 303 Robert Eberhart to Jeptha H.Moon & William R.Crook, Deacons Georgia, Elbert County: This Indenture made this thirty first day of January 1852 Between Robert Eberhart of the one part and Jeptha H Moon and William R. Crook as Deacons of Antioch Church And Jeptha H Moon as worthy patriarch of Antioch Division Number 48 of the sons of Temperance of the other part all of Said county Witnesseth that the said Robert Eberhart for and in consideration of the sum of Ten Dollars to him in hand paid by the said Moon & Crook as Deacons & the said Moon as W.P. the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath granted bargained and sold and doth by these presents grant bargain sell and convey to the said Jeptha H Moon and William R. Crook as Deacons of Antioch Church and their successors in office. And to the said Jeptha H. Moon as worthy Patriarch of Antioch No. 48 Sons of Temperance and his successors in office all that Tract or parcel of land situate lying & being on the waters of the south prong of Fork of Doves Creek in the 202nd District in said county Containing four and eight tenths acres Beginning at a spanish Oak x on the road Thence S 15 E 4 C 8 links to a white oak. x Thence N 73 E 10 C to a red oak bush x Thence N 17 W 4, C 8 links to a red oak x on the road then with the road to the beginning x Joining lands of Robert Eberhart on all sides to have and to hold said parcel of land with all its rights members and appurtenances to them the said Jeptha H. Moon And William R. Crook as Deacons of the said Antioch Church and their successors in office to and for all the uses and purposes of Religious worship According to the mode and usages of the said Antioch Church and the Baptist Denomination to which they belong forever And to have and to hold said parcel of land with all its rights members and appurtenances to him the said Jeptha H. Moon as worthy patriarch of Antioch Division Number 48 sons of Temperance and his successors in office to and for all the uses and purposes of holding and conducting the business of the order of the sons of Temperance, of said Division so as not to disturb or interfere with the Religious worship of the said Church, agreeably to the rules and regulations of said order forever. And it is Expressly agreed between the parties that if the said Society of the order of the Sons of Temperance should Discontinue or become extinct and another society or organization of Temperance should spring up or be organized in its stead then the said society or organization shall have the same right and privileges which are hereby conveyed and granted to the sons of Temperance. and the said Robert Eberhart for himself his heirs Executors and Administrators the said bargained premises to the said Deacons and their successors in office and to the said Worthy Patriarch and his successors in office for the purposes afoersaid. Will warrant and forever defend by virtue of these presents.
