All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/ga/gafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Transcribed by Chandler Eavenson 10 April 2006 Deeds Eli Eavenson and Rachel to Robert Schofield, 21 Jun 1799 The following deed appears in Elbert Co., GA deed book F, page 92: "This indenture made this 21 day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety nine and in the twenty third year of American Independence, between Eli Eavenson and Rachel his wife of the county of Elbert and State of Georgia of the one part and Robert Schofield of the County and State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said Eli Eavenson and Rachel his wife do for an in consideration of the just and full sum of two hundred dollars to them in hand well and truly paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have bargained and sold released and confirmed unto the said Robert Schofield his heirs and assigns ____ tract of land containing by estimation ninety nine acres situate lying and being in the county aforesaid and on the waters of Falling Creek ___and bounding as follows [description of property being omitted here but mentions James H. Kidd's corner, lines of Whitney, McClesky, John Cook and the line of Elberton] To have and hold whereonly proper use benefit and behoof all that Land contained within said boundries Together with all and singular the rights members and appurtenances thereon to belonging ___ ___ ___ Eli Eavenson and Rachel his wife do warrant and forever defend same from ourselves our heirs and all and every other person whatsoever unto Robert Schofield his heirs and assigns forever in fee simple.
