William W. Hewell to Joel W. Moore

Georgia, Elbert County; 
This indenture made this twenty fifth day of March in the year of 
our lord Eighteen Hundred and forty eight Between William W. Hewell 
of the one part and Joel W. Moore of the other part both of the State 
and County aforesaid. Witnesseth that the said William W. Hewell for 
and in consideration of the Sum of three hundred dollars to me in hand 
paid by the said Joel W. Moore the receipt whereof is hereby 
acknowledged hath granted bargained and sold a certain tract or parcel 
of land containing one hundred & fifty acres be the same more or less 
situate lying and being in the State and County aforesaid on the waters 
of Doves Creek beginning at a Persimmon corner on the road thence
north to a black gum corner adjoining Mrs. Parham thence west to a 
post oak corner adjoining Robert Booth thence South west to a gum corner 
on the road thence the road to the beginning corner to have and to hold 
the said bargained premises to the only proper use and benefit of him 
the Joel W. Moore his heirs and assigns for ever in fee simple and the 
said William W. Hewell as for myself My heirs executors and 
administrators do for evermore ent (?) and defend the right and title 
of the aforesaid bargained premises to the Said Joel W. Moore his heirs 
and assigns against myself my heirs and against the claims of every 
other person in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand
and Seal the day and year above written.
