Harris To Trustees of Harris Academy Deed Book D 2 page 442 State of Georgia, Elbert County This Indenture, made this 7 day of Jan in the year of our Lord, One Thousand Nine Hundred and five between J.M. Harris of the County of Elbert and state of Georgia of the first part and A.H. Ginn, B.F Anthony M.A. Craft Trustees of Harris School house and their successors in office of the county of Madison and state of Georgia of the second part. Witnesseth, That the said party of the first part for and in consideration of the benefit to hereunto to settlement from having a constant school Dollar in hand paid at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, has granted, bargained, sold and conveyed and by these presents does grant bargain, sell and convey to the said parties of the second part their successors in office all that tract or parcel of land, situated, lying and being in the county of Madison Harrison Dist bounded as follows on North by road leading from Vanns to Butler's Mill on all other sides by lands of said J.M. Harris, the boundry line of said lot of land at a pine stump corner known as the corner between lands A.H.S. Ginn and W.H. Berryman running Easterly direction 35 yards to a stake thence a north easterly direction 70 yards to stake thence northwest to said road thence with said road to the beginning corner containing one half of one acre should said lot of land cease to be used for school purposes it shall then go back to the party then owning the lands which are now owned by the said J.M. Harris. To have and to hold the said bargained premises, together with all and singular the rights, members and appurtenances thereof, to the same being, belonging or in anywise, appertaining, to the only proper use, benefit and belong of them the said parties of the second part and their sucessors in office in fee simple and the party of the first part his heirs executors administrators the said bargained premises unto the said parties of the second part & their successors in office against said party of the first part his heirs, executors and administrators and all and any person or persons, shall and will warrant and forever defend by virtue of these presents- in witness whereof the said party of the first part has hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and year first above written.
