Thia indenture made this the 6th day of August Nineteen hundred twenty eight 
between Holding Commission a Corporation of the state and county party of the 
first part and L W Hendrick  C P Hairston and G L Seymour, Trustees of Bowman 
Church of Elbert county, Georgia parties of the second part,
Witnesseth; That by virtue of a resolution passed by The Holding Commission to 
convey to Bowman Baptist Church Bowman, Georgia, the properties now held by 
said Holding Commission in Bowman, Georgia reference to which said resolution 
is hereby made a part of this deed the said party of the first part in 
consideration of the premises and the further consideration of the sum of ten 
dollars cash in hand paid at and before the sealing and delivery of these 
presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledgeed has granted bargained and 
sold and by these presents does grant bargain sell and convey unto the said 
parties of the second part and to their successors in office the following 
described property to wit;
All that tract or part of land lying and being in the City of Bowman, Elbert 
county, Georgia containing ten  (10) acres, more or less, said lands bounded 
on North by College Avenue on the northwest by lands formerly belonging to C D 
Vaughn and lands of Mrs B R Cordell on East and southeast by lands formerly 
belonging to W H Bowers and lands of I J Teasley on the South by lands of Andy 
Brown, Sr., and on the west by lands of Andy brown, Sr. and by Seegar street 
known as the Gibson-Mercer property on which property is situated the old 
Gibson Mercer School building (now burned down) a two story brick building 
known as the Girls dormitory a two story frame dwellling known as the Boys 
domitory a five room dwelling house formerly occupied by T J Rucker and out 
housess embraced within the curtilege of the campus also all the personal 
property on the premises of the above described property, consisting of the 
water works system at the girls dormitory School desk, teachers desk, chairs, 
tables, pianos, stoves, benches, chemical labatory and contents and all school 
equipment and appliances used in connection with said school this being the 
same property as conveyed to said Holding Commission a Corporation by Trustees 
of Gibson Mercer Academy a corporation under a deed dated April 20, 1920 and 
recorded under date of September 27, 1920 in clerks office Elbert superior 
court in deed book 7, page 432.
To have and to hold the said above described bargained property together with 
all and singular the rights members and appurtenances thereunto belonging to 
the only proper use benifit and behoof of the said party of the sec part and 
their successors in office forever in fee simple, and the said party of the 
first part its successors and assigns will warrant and forever defend the 
right and title to the said described property unto the said parties of the 
second part and to their successors in office against the lawful claims of all 
persons by virtue of these presents.
In witness whereof the said party of the first part has caused its corporate 
name to be signed and its corporate seal to be affixed and delivered by its 
proper officers the day and year first above written.
