Georgia; Elbert County: This indenture made this sixth day of September 
in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty six 
between John D. Johns of the one part and John Booth of the other part, 
both of the State and County Aforesaid. Witness that the said John D. 
Johns hath and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and sixty 
dollars to him in hand paid hath bargained Sold, and by these presents 
hath bargained sold and conveyed unto the said John Booth all of my 
claims to a certain tract or parcel of land lying on the waters of the 
Broad River in the county aforesaid adjoining the said John Booth and 
Thomas Moore and Austin Webb and Samuel Woods where on the said John D. 
now lives, it being the lot of land formally belonged to Nathaniel 
Booth (dec'd), that is to say Robert Booth, Nancy Booth, Gabriel
Booth, John Hanna, Nathaniel Booth, William Booth and the said John D. 
Johns part, and the said John D. doth warrant and forever defend the 
title to the said John from me and my heirs, and all other claims 
forever, to the said John Booth and his heirs so that they shall have 
peaceable possession forever. In witness whereof I have this day set me 
hand and fix my seal the day & year above written in presence of
