Indenture between Jones Family & David Bell 12 Nov 1844 Elbert County, GA Superior court Deeds Book AA 1846-1854 Page 6 Jones to Bell Ga Elbert Co: This Indent. made this twelfth day of November in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and forty four between Abner P Turman in right of his wife Martha Turman formerly Martha Jones, William S Jones, James Jones, Thomas Jones and Wiley W. Jones heirs of Solomon Jones deceased of the one part and David Bell of the other part all of the state and county aforesaid Witneseth that for and in consideration of the sum of seven hundred and fifty three dollars to them in hand paid by the said David Bell the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged hath bargained and sold unto the said David Bell and by these presents do grant bargain sell and convey unto the said David his heirs and assigns all that certain tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the county aforesaid on the waters of Falling creek containing eighty nine and eight tenth acres according to survey it being a part of the tract of land whereon Solomon Jones deceased formerly lived sold as said deceased Estate at public outcry at the Court House in said County on the fifth day of November in said year by Mutual consent of said Legatees knocked off upon said David at the aforesaid sum and price he being the last and highest bidder said land bounded as follows beginning at a Red Oak Corner on M. Hudsons (?) line running South Westwardly to a wild Plum corner, thence westwardly down a drain to a Elm corner thence South westwardly to a ;Hickory corner on a Branch thence down said Branch to a persimmon Corner thence up a Drain E & S Eastwardly to a Wild Plum and thence South eastwardly to a Post Oak x on G. Osby's (?) line thence N Eastwardly with said Oglby's (?) line to a Post Oak x on M Hudsons line thence with said Hudsons line N Westwardly to the beginning corner which will be fully shown by a plat of the hereunto around which land and premises with all things thereunto belonging or in any wise thereunto appertaining. We the aforesaid legatees do each so far as our proportion do warrant and defend the right and title unto him the said David his heirs and assigns against the Claims of ourselves and all other persons to have and to hold as their own use benefit and behalf forever in fee simple.
