Thomas E. James to John Faulkner

Georgia, Elbert County
Know all men by these present that I Thomas E. James of said County 
for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred & thirty dollars 
to me in hand paid by John Faulkner of said County the receipt whereof 
is hereby acknowledged have bargained and sold and do by these 
presences bargain sell and convey to the said John Faulkner his heirs 
and assigns all that tract or parcel of land situate lying and being 
on the waters of Beverdam Creek in the Pike District in said County 
adjoining lands of Mrs. Rachel Richards, George W. Hammon, Matthew 
Pulliam, & Edmund Rowsey containing one hundred and thirty acres more
or less it being a part of the Peter Shepherd Survey to have and to 
hold the said tract of land to the said John Faulkner his heirs and 
assigns forever in fee simple... And the said Thomas E. James for 
himself his heirs Executors and administrators the said bargained 
premises to the said John Faulkner his heirs and assigns will warrant
& forever defend against the claim or claims of all persons whatsoever 
by virtue of these presents..In Witness whereof I the said Thomas E. 
James hath hereunto set his hand and seal this 18th day of September 
1852
