Nelms to Simeon Hall, 30 Dec 1836 The following deed appears in Elbert Co., GA Deed Book Y, page 162 "Georgia, Elbert County) This indenture made the thirtieth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty six between William B. Nelms of the county and state of the one part and Simeon Hall of the same place of the other part, Witnesseth that the said William B. Nelms for an in consideration of the sum of four hundred and fifty dollars to him in hand paid at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained sold and conveyed and does by these presents grant bargain sell and convey unto the said Simeon Hall his heirs and assigns all that tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the town of Elberton in the State and County aforesaid containing two acres be the same more or less lying on the north side of the stret heading from the public square toward Petersburg adjoining lands belonging to John A. H. Harper, Abner Adams and others commencing on the cross street, adjoining John A. H. Harper and running thence east along the street two hundred and twenty eight feet to the corner of the Garden thence north four hundred and fifty two feet to the Old Road on Abner Adams line thence west along said Old Road to the cross street on John A. H. Harper's line thence along said cross street running south to the beginning comencement, to have and to hold said tract or parcel of land unto him the said Simeon Hall his heirs and assigns together with all and singular the rights members and appurtenances thereof to the same in any manner belonging to his and their own proper use benefit and behoof forever in fee simple, and the said William B. Nelms for himself his heirs Executors and Administrators the said bargained premises unto the said Simeon Hall his heirs and assigns will warrant and forever defend the right and title thereof against themselves and against the claim of all other persons whatever.
