Penn of the County and State aforesaid for an in consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars to me in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have granted bargained sold and conveyed unto Simeon Hall and Mceger [Micajah] Burden of the State of Georgia and County of Elbert all that parcel or lot of land containing one hundred acres more or less, lying and being in the County of Elbert and State aforesaid of Georgia being the plantation whereon Thomas Penn Senr. formerly lived it being in the fork of the two Beaverdam creeks adjoining lands of Jackson Oliver and others, and by reference to the original plat may more fully appear. And I do hereby warrant and forever defend the same unto the said above Simeon Hall and Mceger [Micajah] their heirs Executors Administrators and assigns, against myself my heirs, Executors Administrators and assigns, and against all and every other person or persons whomsoever lawfully claiming the same or any part thereof. In Witness hereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal this sixth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty eight. her Elizabeth X Penn (Seal) mark Test- Gilbert Mason William Mason (State of Tennessee, Warren County) This day personally came William Mason before me John Duncan one of the acting Justices of said County, and makes oath in due form of law, and states that he is personally acquainted with Elizabeth R. Penn and that he saw her sign and heard her acknowledge her signature to the deed to be her act and deed for the purposes that it contains, also that he saw Gilbert Mason the other witness attest the same, sworn to and subscribed before me on the 8th day of September 1838.
