1796, May 3—This Indenture made between Leroy Pope and Judith, his wife unto 
John Oliver, all of Elbert County.  For and in consideration of the sum of $336 
dollars sold to said Oliver, ˝ of a tract of land on the Savannh River 
consisting of 400 acres known by the name of Howard’s Mill Seat including ˝ of 
the sawmill and seat, the running gear of the grist mill is excepted whereas 
they belong to Richard Easter
