Indenture between William Ray & Reuben Williford 02 Feb 1846 Elbert Co, GA Deed - William C. Ray to Reuben S. Williford Georgia : This indenture made and entered into Elbert County : this Second day of february in the year of our Lord Eighteen Hundred and forty Six between Wm. C. Ray of one part and R.S. Williford of the other part both of the State and County aforesaid. (Witnesseth) that for and in consideration of the sum of Two hundred and fifty dollars in hand paid the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged hath bargained granted sold and conveyed and doth bargain sell and convey unto the said R.S. Williford all that tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the County and State aforesaid on the north beaverdam creek it being a part of a tract of one thousand acres originally granted to William Bibb and deeded to the said Williford by Wm. C. Ray and bounded as follows beginning on a pine corner and running S 30 E 71 chains on Bown land to a white oak corner. Thence N 65 E 5 chains, 50 links, down the branch to a hickory corner on the line of lands belonging to the estate of Wm. Bowers deceased's land. Thence N 32 E 50 chains to a post oak corner on said Bower's line Thence on E[lbert] J. Brown's line to a post oak corner on Wm. Joneses line thence on said line to the beginning corner containing one Hundred acres more or less together with and singular the rights and appurtenances thereunto belonging, to have and to hold the said lot or parcel of land with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging, and the said William C. Ray do for my self, my heirs, and assigns, warrant and forever defend the rights and title of the aforesaid premises unto the said R.S. Williford, his heirs and assigns free from the just claims of myself, my heirs or assigns or any other person whatever in fee simple .
