Deed Book K, pages 117-119: Georgia - This Indenture made the fifteenth of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and six between Dozer Thornton and Nancy his wife of the one part and Wm Gibbs of the other part, both being of the State aforesaid and County of Elbert, Witnesseth that the said Dozer Thornton and Nancy his wife hath and in consideration of the sum of seventy dollars to them in hand paid, at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted, bargained, sold, ___ and confirmed and by these presents, do grant bargain, sell, lease and forever confirm unto the said Wm Gibbs, one certain tract or parcel of Land situate lying and being in the said County of Elbert and on the Beaverdam Creek containing thiry acres more or less it being part of a tract granted to the heirs of Wm Jarvis, and lying within the bounds hereafter mentioned beginning at Old corner post oaks thence on Wm Gibbs line south fifty six and one half degrees east to a new made corner stake twelve chains, and eighty four ___, thence off a division line north thirty three and one half degrees east passing a new made station birch to the Beaverdam Creek, thence up the said creek to where Wm Jarvis old grant line crossing the same thence with said line to the Post Oak corner at the beginning, to have and to hold the aforesaid devidend thirty acres of land and all and singular the appurtances thereunto belonging or in anyways appertaining unto the only proper use benefit and behoof of him the said William Gibbs his heirs and assigns forever in fee simple, and the said Dozer Thornton and Nancy his wife do covenant and agree to and with the said William Gibbs that they and their heirs and every other person shall and will warrant and by these presents forever defend the aforesaid devidend parcel of Land so that the aforesaid William Gibbs his heirs and assigns shall at all times hereafter be quietly and peaceably possessed of the same.
