All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/ga/gafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Transcribed by Chandler Eavenson March 26, 2005 Deed Dozier Thornton, Jr. to Dozier Thornton, Sr., 11 Jan 1812 The following deed is recorded in Elbert Co., GA Deed Book O, page 70: This Indenture made this 11th day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twelve between Dozer Thornton, Jr. of the county of Elbert and State of Georgia of the one part and Dozer Thornton Senr. of the other part - Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred fifty dollars to me in hand paid by the said Dozier Thornton Senr. at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is acknowledged hath bargained sold conveyed delivered and confirmed and by these presents do bargain, sell, convey, deliver, and confirm unto the said Dozier Thornton Senr his heirs and assigns forever all that tract or parcel of land lying and being in the State and County aforesaid containing one hundred acres be the same more or less on the south (?) of the Beaverdam Creek, originally surveyed for Nathaniel Allen, bounded by Beverly ____and Tates lands along Tates line west of the Branch thence along said branch till it strikes to Allen's old line thence along said line to the beginning which said tract of land I do and will warrant and forever defend unto the said Dozier Thornton senr his heirs and assigns the aforesaid tract of land and premises with all its members and appertances thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining unto the said Dozier Thornton, Senr. his heirs and assigns forever so that they shall at all times be quietly and peacably possesed of the same and do bind myself my heirs and assigns forever In fee simple clear from the claim or claims of all and every person or persons in any manner whatsoever.
